The Tame of the Snake is an adaptation of a classical opera by Anton Chekhov, written in 1925.
It tells the story of the Russian explorer Anton Chekhanov, who was exiled to Siberia after his brother died.
Chekhonov was later adopted as the adopted son of Russian Tsar Ivan the Terrible.
The opera has been performed since 1919, and the first three movements are based on the text.
