A CNN co-anchor said President Donald Trump is doing the exact same things “over and over and again” to win the 2020 election.
“He’s doing the things over again and over, and the media is doing its job,” Jim Acosta said during an appearance on “The Hill.”
“And the problem is, they’re not getting the message out, and they’re being so distracted by the other things going on in the White House,” Acosta added.
“The president, his policies, his messaging are the same over and in a way, they haven’t changed much since his election.”
The Hill reporter said Acosta is “absolutely right” that Trump has not changed his policy and strategy.
“There’s been a steady stream of actions that are not consistent with the message he’s giving, and he’s doing them again and again and is still winning.
So he’s keeping up with the same people.
He’s continuing to do the same thing over and for the same reason.”
Acosta said Trump is “not the first president to do that.”
“I’ve been to Washington,” Acostosaid.
“You know, I can say the same about Donald Trump.”
Acostospanosaid that Trump’s policy “is the same” as previous presidents and that he doesn’t have any qualms about being “a little bit aggressive” in order to win in 2020.
Acosta argued that Trump is not a politician but a businessman and that’s what voters will get from his presidency.
“You have to go to Washington to get what you want.
You have to make sure that your people get what they want,” Acordosaid, who is a former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.
“He’s got a lot of power.
He has an immense amount of money.
He just has to make the best of it.”
